Film Society, "I Am Love," Town Hall; dinner @7:15 pm, film @ 8. - Friday, February 10, 2012
The words, “lush,” “romantic,” even perhaps “melodramatic” can be used to describe the next film in the GPFS 2012 series. And aren’t those good words to describe any film intended to get you ready for Valentine’s Day? Not only will you get all that, but also a stunningly beautiful film set in Northern Italy featuring the sumptuous food of the region. I Am Love (Sono Amore) (2009, in Italian, Rated R), starring Tilda Swinton, is for mature audiences. It is not recommended for children.
Dinner (main course inspired by the film) will be served at 7:15pm. It features Penne with Eggplant (with or without shrimp), salad, and bread for $10. There will be a couple of choices for dessert (at least one of which will be made with chocolate) for $2. Soda, water, beer and wine also will be on offer at prices ranging from $1 to $5.
