Primary Election Forum in Gaithersburg - Sunday, September 12, 2010
The Primary Election is coming up fast: SEPTEMBER 14. You will be asked to vote for 5 county council members--one for your district and 4 At-Large candidates. These votes are crucially important to all county citizens. Taxes, transportation, libraries, public safety, human services and more are all affected by these votes.
This Sunday from 3-5 PM there will be a Forum featuring the nine candidates for the four At-Large council seats. Four incumbents--Floreen, Trachtenberg, Elrich and Leventhal--will face five challengers--de Winter, Evans, Narayanan, Riemer and Wagner. The challengers look impressive. The incumbents are experienced. The choices are yours!
Location of the Forum is the Casey Community Center, 810 S. Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg 20877. That is very close to the Shady Grove intersection.
Written questions from the audience are solicited. You can write your questions as you enter (doors open at 2:30) or during the Forum. Pens and index cards will be provided for this.
You can also e-mail waltsonneville@earthlink.net to submit your question. State whether or not your name can be mentioned as the questioner. You may remain anonymous if you choose.
There is plenty of parking and plenty of seating.
Sponsors of the event are the Democratic clubs of District 17 (Rockville, Gaithersburg, Garrett Park), District 39 (Germantown), and Asbury Methodist Village. Our moderator will be Elliot Chabot, Secretary, Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee. Fredrika Moser moser@mdsg.umd.edu
