County Council Candidates Forum, 7:30-9:30 pm, Kensington Town Hall - Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Meet the people running At Large!  Hear their views on issues important to you!

-  Growth supported in the White Flint Sector Plan and the impact on Strathmore Avenue and Rockville Pike traffic

-  Growth supported in the Kensington Sector Plan and the impact of Strathmore Avenue/Knowles Ave/Connecticut Avenue traffic

-  BRAC growth at Bethesda Medical and the impact on Rockville Pike traffic and Connecticut Avenue traffic

-  Costco coming to Wheaton Plaza and the impact on Connecticut Avenue traffic.

The County Council sets the County's budget and spends YOUR TAX DOLLARS.  The County Council makes decisions about land use and transportation issues.  And there are MANY MORE reasons to get informed about who wants OUR VOTES to sit on the 9-person legislative Council for our County!  Each of us can vote for 1 District representative and 4 At-Large representatives.  Format:  short opening statements followed by a question-and-answer session.

 Please find attached a poster intended to notify voters of the temporary assignment of Precinct 04-08 (normally at Garrett Park Elementary).  We will be using the Holy Cross School for the Gubernatorial 2010 Elections, while Garrett Park ES is being renovated.
