Rescheduled Coffeehouse from 2/13, 7:30-10 pm, Town Hall - Saturday, February 20, 2010

Due to the snow-out, the Coffeehouse was rescheduled from Saturday, 2/13 to this Saturday, February 20th.  Please see below!

The Garrett Park Casual Musicians Club will host a free, community coffeehouse from 7:30 – 10:00 pm at the Garrett Park Town Hall on Saturday, February 20, 2010.

The event was originally planned to be held on the eve of Valentine's Day, and so it will feature different takes on love, including songs you may know from familiar standards to artists like James Taylor, The Cure, BB King, Dusty Springfield, The Spinners, Sting, and The Rolling Stones.

The Coffeehouses have evolved over the last six years as musicians have grown musically and new performers have joined.  Past Coffeehouses have included an eclectic mix of styles including acoustic pop, jazz, folk, latin, rock, and bluegrass.  The event is open to all ages. Finger foods and drinks will be provided by musicians and other community members or bring your own food or drink to share.  Alcoholic beverages are permitted.

Interested in Becoming Part of the Casual Musicians Club?  We’d love to have you, particularly if you are an instrumentalist!  The GP Casual Musicians club consists of over 25 of your neighbors and friends in Garrett Park, Garrett Park Estates/White Flint Park, and surrounding communities.  The club provides a welcoming forum for community members to express themselves musically.  New participants from Garrett Park and the greater GP community are always welcome!  Jam sessions are held 2-3 times each month – on first, third and fifth Thursdays -- at the GP Town Hall, from 8 pm to 11 pm.  Drop in and join us on some Thursday evening!  For more information about the club, or about this particular event, please contact either David Meredith (301-949-9374), Karen Cole (301-933-3738) or Melissa Bronez (301-942-4870).
