Renewable energy sign up -- Be Cool by being a part of the Garrett Park Sustainable Energy Challenge: To have every home in Garrett Park running on renewable energy. Sign up for clean energy through Montgomery County's Clean Energy Rewards program and get one cent per kWh off your purchases; have your power bill ready when you sign up because you will need some information from it.

Reusable Garrett Park logo bags for sale -- Get your supply of Garrett Park reusable bags today: $2.50 each or 5 bags for $10.00. Compost bin give away -- The Garrett Park Climate Action Network is giving away free compost bins. Just think how jealous your neighbors will be! But, they don’t have to be…tell them how to get one for free too, and start composting! Contact the Garrett Park Administrative Assistant at the Town office to sign-up for and pick up the bins.

Non-toxic pesticide treatments  --  Got a pest problem, but don’t want to poison your home to get rid of it? Try using a pest management approach that wont leave you gasping for air. Beyond Pesticides has a website (LINK) to find local service providers anywhere in the U.S., along with do-it-yourself advice you can try. If you can’t find what you want on the website, phone them at 202-543-5450. Another resource is Bio-Logical Pest Managment  (LINK, 202-237-7509). They also do pest home inspections when you purchase a new home.
