Farmers Market

The Hare Valley Growers is a small-scale farming operation that brings organic produce to Garrett Park. The market opens the first Saturday in June and is in operation through the weekend before Thanksgiving. Hares Valley Growers lie in one of the many narrow valleys in central Pennsylvania and has a diverse operation which includes egg production, specialty greenhouse crops, as well as standard field crops like basil, broccoli, tomatoes, kale, spinach, onions, rhubarb, rutabagas, and turnips.

The Hare Valley Growers is part of the Tuscarora Organic Growers (TOG), a family marketing cooperative that took root in 1988 when a group of neighboring organic fruit and vegetable farmers discussed the possibility of joining forces to market their products. All produce is certified organic by independent certifying agencies. These agencies insure that farmers are building healthy soils and avoiding the use of synthetic chemicals, while adhering to a set of farming principles and practices which are consistent for all certified organic producers
