The
Town contracts for these services and assesses an equal fee on all homes in
Garret Park. All items for collection need to be ready for pickup before 7:00
AM.
Refuse
collection (curbside or side/rear yard): Mondays and Thursdays
General
household trash and garbage should be placed in plastic bags inside of covered
trashcans. It is not necessary to place trashcans at curbside; trash will be
collected from the side or rear of your home. If you change the location of
your trashcans, please notify the Town Office.
Recycling

Mixed
Paper recycling
– Acceptable materials may be placed at the curb in paper bags
or small cardboard boxes. Flatten all empty boxes and put in bundles not larger
than three feet wide and six inches thick. Tie newspapers with twine or place
in a separate box or paper bag. Shredded paper is acceptable - please bag or
box securely to prevent wind-blown debris. The following paper items are acceptable:

telephone books, unwanted mail

corrugated cardboard, paperback books

Yard
Waste (Curbside only): Monday
Yard waste is collected every Monday during the months of March through October, and
on the first Monday of each month only during November through February.
It should be placed at the curb before 7 AM
.

Place leaves, grass, small
brush, and clippings in large paper bags available from most grocery and
hardware stores, home improvement and garden centers.

Total bag weight MUST NOT
exceed 45 pounds

Branches and large brush may
be tied in bundles with twine. Bundles should not exceed 30 inches in
diameter or four feet in length.

Individual branches MUST NOT
exceed four feet in length and four inches in diameter.

NO rocks, dirt or sod

NO root balls or tree stumps

NO lumber or firewood

Collections
On

Thursday holidays, the trash collection is not made up and normal collection
resumes the following Monday.
