Proposed Ordinance 2011-05, introduced by the Town Council on December 12, 2011.

This proposal was considered at the January 9, 2012 Town Council meeting, at which time residents commented and the Council discussed next steps. Questions have arisen regarding the proposed Ordinance (including but not limited to questions concerning practical application of County “exemptions for projections� standards), so the Council further discussed the Ordinance at its work session on January 23. In that meeting, the Council received the views of the Setback Advisory Committee. http://www.garrettpark-md.gov/c/303/setback-advisory-committee As a result of the work session discussion, the Council is seeking interpretive guidance from the Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services. Changes, if any, to the Ordinance will be further considered once the Council has obtained additional information. If that information is not received prior to the February 13, 2012 Council meeting, consideration of the Ordinance will be further deferred to the Town Council’s regular monthly meeting on March 12, 2012. A formal hearing will be held prior to any consideration of final adoption.
