TONIGHT: Upcoming Election Nominations: Citizens Association Meeting March 31

At the March 31st meeting, the Citizen’s Association will accept nominations for the upcoming May 3rd town elections. Three seats are up for election this year, including Mayor and two Town Council seats. Please consider running for one of these important positions. If interested, please have someone submit your nomination at this meeting.

Please be sure you are a registered voter in Montgomery County.  If you have recently moved to Garrett Park, be sure you have mailed your change of address to the MC Board of Elections.  Voter Registration information and applications are available in the GP Post Office.  Non-citizen voter registration information and applications are available in the Town office.

Pamela Rowe from RainScapes for Healthy Watersheds – Reducing Pollution One Yard at a Time will be our guest speaker. Learn about the RainScapes program that assists County property owners to install projects that reduce storm water runoff from their land with attractive landscaping solutions. Hear about how the County provides financial and technical assistance with rain garden projects, conservation landscapes, permeable paver retrofits, tree planting projects, and more. We will discuss the RainScapes Rebate program as well as work being undertaken in specific neighborhoods, including the area of Garret Park south of Strathmore.
